Shakira and Burna Boy Collaborate for World Cup Anthem

Shakira has teamed up with Burna Boy to produce the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The track, titled "Dai Dai," is scheduled for release on May 14.

This collaboration merges Latin pop and Afrobeat, showcasing a fresh global sound for the upcoming tournament. Shakira, who first performed at the FIFA World Cup in 2006, is renowned for her iconic anthem "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," released during the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

Burna Boy's involvement follows the historical achievement of Davido, who became the second Nigerian artist to feature in a FIFA World Cup anthem with "Hayya Hayya (Better Together)" in 2022, alongside American singer Trinidad Cardona and Qatari pop star Aisha. This partnership signifies a continuation of high-profile collaborations for FIFA's official songs.
