Shakira to Perform with Uganda's Ghetto Kids at 2026 World Cup

Shakira will share the stage with Uganda's Ghetto Kids during the halftime show of the 2026 World Cup Final, set to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, America. Shakira announced this collaboration via social media on July 19.

The Ghetto Kids, a dance group that has gained recognition for their performances, previously danced to Shakira's official tournament song "Dai Dai." The group, which focuses on disadvantaged children in Kampala, Uganda, expressed their excitement about performing in front of a global audience of billions. Tiyoma Keysha, a young member of the group, stated their eagerness to showcase their talent.

The Ghetto Kids were discovered by manager Dauda Kavuma after a video of their dance went viral in 2014, leading to appearances on various international platforms. Despite Uganda's failure to qualify for the tournament, the group hopes to travel to America for the final, although current travel restrictions due to an Ebola outbreak may pose challenges.
