Sokoto Governor Rewards Best Graduating Student with Hajj Sponsorship

Sherif Abdullahi, the best graduating student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, was rewarded by Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State with a fully funded Hajj trip to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 exercise. Governor Aliyu made the announcement during the institution's 42nd convocation ceremony.

Sherif Abdullahi, a Microbiology graduate with an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average, was praised for his academic excellence. The governor highlighted his administration's investments in education, including settling a billion naira in accumulated tuition fees for medical students and appointing four professors from UDUS.

Additionally, the state has been renovating primary, secondary, and tertiary schools. This gesture recognizes Abdullahi's exceptional achievements and underscores the government's commitment to education in Sokoto State.
