Shettima Supports ICSAN Amendment Bill Passage

On Friday, Vice President Kashim Shettima assured the Federal Government's commitment to engaging relevant stakeholders to accelerate the passage of the ICSAN amendment bill. This assurance was given during a courtesy visit from a delegation led by Uto Ukpanah, the 30th President and Chairman of the Governing Council of ICSAN, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The proposed legislation seeks to rename the institute and broaden its scope beyond traditional secretarial functions to align with modern governance practices. Shettima commended ICSAN on its 60th anniversary, recognizing its significant contributions to governance in Nigeria over the past six decades.

He stated that the administration of President Bola Tinubu would support efforts to ensure the swift passage of the charter governing the institute. The Vice President also advised ICSAN to consider maximizing its property assets to generate income alongside its plans for a headquarters project, which is expected to enhance the institute's status once it becomes a chartered entity.
