VP Shettima Advocates for Nigeria's Global Role at UNGA 80

Vice President Kashim Shettima departed New York for Germany after representing President Bola Tinubu at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Shettima's visit to New York focused on promoting Nigeria's energy transition plan, partnerships with the UK, and advocating for UN reform.

He emphasized Nigeria's push for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council and highlighted the country's mineral resources and digital inclusion initiatives. Shettima also met with the Gates Foundation to expand healthcare and education access in Nigeria.
