Shettima Backs Bill to Expand ICSAN's Mandate

On Friday, Vice President Kashim Shettima assured that the Federal Government will support the rapid passage of a bill aimed at expanding the mandate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN). This assurance was made during a courtesy visit by a delegation from ICSAN, led by its 30th President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Uto Ukpanah, at the State House in Abuja.

The bill, currently before the National Assembly, seeks to amend the institute's name to better reflect modern governance practices and to expand its mandate beyond traditional secretarial duties. Shettima emphasized that the administration of President Bola Tinubu will actively support efforts to fast-track the bill's passage.

He congratulated ICSAN on its 60th anniversary and acknowledged the institute's significant role in governance across both public and private sectors. Ukpanah expressed gratitude for the Vice President's audience and reiterated the importance of the bill in aligning the institute's mandate with current practices.
