Shettima Backs ICSAN Bill for Expanded Governance Role

On a recent visit to the State House in Abuja, Vice President Kashim Shettima assured the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) of the Federal Government's support for the swift passage of an amendment bill. This bill aims to change the institute's name to better reflect modern governance practices and expand its mandate beyond traditional secretarial duties.

Shettima emphasized that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would facilitate engagement with major stakeholders to ensure the bill's prompt passage. He congratulated ICSAN on its upcoming 60th anniversary and acknowledged its significant contributions to governance in Nigeria.

Uto Ukpanah, the 30th President and Chairman of the Governing Council of ICSAN, expressed gratitude for the Vice President's audience and highlighted the importance of the bill in aligning the institute's mandate with current practices. She also sought support for ICSAN's building project in Lagos.
