Shettima Applauds Gates Foundation's Investment in Nigeria

Vice President Kashim Shettima commended the Gates Foundation for its sustained investments in Nigeria during a meeting with a delegation led by Hari Menon, President of the Foundation's Global Growth Opportunities division, at the State House in Abuja. Shettima highlighted the Foundation as a strategic partner in addressing Nigeria's challenges, particularly in health, nutrition, and agriculture.

He pledged to support the Foundation's request to deepen and broaden its partnership with the Nigerian government and the private sector. Shettima stressed the importance of increasing agricultural productivity through modern technology and improved farming practices.

He noted Nigeria's potential to become a major economy and referred to it as a "sleeping giant" of Africa. The Vice President also acknowledged the ongoing reforms under President Bola Tinubu's administration, which aim to transform Nigeria's economy and enhance partnerships with organizations like the Gates Foundation.
