'OKOBI' Initiative Approved for National Job Creation

Rukaiya El-Rufai, speaking on behalf of the Vice President, announced the federal government's approval of the 'OKOBI' initiative during a grant presentation ceremony at Claretian University in Owerri, Imo State. This program is designed to scale job creation efforts nationwide and align with Nigeria's goal of ranking among the top 80 countries in the human capital index by 2030.

Deputy Governor of Imo State, Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, described the 'OKOBI' initiative as a strategic effort to stimulate grassroots economic development, focusing on self-reliance and community-driven enterprises among youth. Ekomaru emphasized that the grant award scheme extends beyond financial assistance, aiming to invest in innovative futures for the state.

Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Kenneth Amaeshi, highlighted the importance of collective enterprise in building resilient economies. El-Rufai further noted that Nigeria's youth population is a key asset for entrepreneurship, encouraging students to engage in practical enterprise skills, financial management, and teamwork.
