VP Shettima to Launch Learning & Empowerment Fund for Women, Youth, and Children in Nigeria

Vice President Kashim Shettima will launch a new learning and empowerment fund targeting Nigerian women, youth, and children. The initiative, scheduled for January 28, 2026, in Abuja, is a collaborative effort between the Vice President's office, Sterling Foundation, and the United Nations system.

The Africa Social Impact Summit (ASI) 2026 will focus on policy engagement, financial partnerships, and inclusive growth strategies. The flagship policy-backed initiative, supported by organizations like BCE Nigeria Foundation, aims to accelerate literacy and numeracy among school children.

Additionally, the Women and Youth Financial and Economic Inclusion (WYFEI) Nigeria platform will be launched to advance economic empowerment through a co-investment framework. CEO of Sterling Foundation, Olapeju Ibekw, highlighted the importance of the event in driving inclusive growth and unlocking the potential of women and youth in Nigeria.
