Vice President to Unveil New Women, Youth Empowerment Fund in Nigeria

Vice President Kashim Shettima is scheduled to inaugurate a new learning fund empowerment platform aimed at unlocking the potential of Nigerian children, women, and youth. The event, set to take place at the State House Conference Center in Abuja, is part of the Africa Social Impact Summit 2026.

The initiative, known as Women and Youth Financial and Economic Inclusivity (WYFEI) Nigeria, will focus on advancing economic empowerment for women and youth in the country. The platform will be implemented in Nigeria as part of the African Union's WYFEI program.

The initiative seeks to mobilize funds and expertise from international and local sources to support economic growth and development in Nigeria. Olapeju Ibekw, the CEO of Sterling Foundation, highlighted the importance of the initiative in strengthening human capital and promoting inclusive growth.
