Shettima Urges South-West Commission to Focus on Results

On Wednesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima met with the management of the South-West Development Commission at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja. He urged the commission, led by board chairman Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, to prioritize measurable outcomes like the quality of roads, job creation, and community transformation over bureaucratic processes.

Shettima praised the establishment of regional development commissions by President Bola Tinubu, highlighting their role in harnessing the unique strengths of each geopolitical zone for Nigeria's prosperity. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with state governments, traditional institutions, the private sector, and development partners, advocating for a focus on integrity, innovation, and results.

Shettima reiterated that the Renewed Hope Agenda aims to translate policies into tangible improvements in Nigerians' lives and called for transparency and the attraction of private investment in projects. Adetunmbi commended the Tinubu administration's economic reforms and Shettima's leadership of the National Economic Council.
