Fulani Group Condemns Plateau Governor's Shoot Order

The Amalgam Fulani Association has expressed strong disapproval of Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang's recent shoot-on-sight order against anyone found destroying farmland.

This order was issued during a condolence visit to Barkin Ladi Local Government Area following violence that resulted in the deaths of 50 people last month. While the Fulani group acknowledged the governor's intent to curb violence attributed to alleged Fulani bandits and Islamic extremists, they warned that the order could backfire and provoke retaliation from the Fulani community.

Modibo Sule, the group's coordinator, stated that the order appears to target the Fulani people and could deepen mistrust and resentment. They emphasized the need for impartial enforcement of laws to ensure peace and security for both farmers and herders, arguing that selective enforcement would perpetuate conflict rather than resolve it.
