Showmax Originals to Launch on DStv from April 2026

MultiChoice has announced that Showmax Originals will be streamed on DStv starting April 1, 2026. This transition aims to enhance the availability of content for audiences by integrating Showmax titles into a dedicated section of the DStv Stream app.

Kemi Omotosho, Chief Executive Officer of MultiChoice Nigeria, emphasized that this move reflects the company's long-term commitment to providing a unified platform for entertainment. The dedicated Showmax section will feature popular titles such as "Wura," "Flawsom," "Cheta," "Princess Hill," and "Influenc," alongside series from South Africa and Kenya.

Existing Showmax customers will migrate to DStv Stream's compact and premium packages, continuing to access content without extra costs until May 31, 2026. This strategic decision is set to ensure that Showmax content remains widely available as the service is scheduled to close on April 30, 2026.
