Shuttlers Launches Shuttlers Pod for Door-to-Door Rides

Shuttlers, co-founded by Damilola Olokesusi, is set to launch a new product called Shuttlers Pod on September 25, 2023, which will provide shared door-to-door rides in Lagos. This marks a return to their original service model after previously adopting a bus-stop-to-bus-stop approach due to coordination challenges and profitability issues.

The company, which has completed over 10 million journeys and operates more than 430 buses daily across Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, announced the Shuttlers Pod on September 4, 2023, shortly after Uber ceased operations in Nigeria. The new service allows up to four commuters to be picked up from their homes and dropped off at individual destinations, requiring advance booking.

Riders must pay for at least two trips per week, and fares vary based on the number of passengers sharing the vehicle. Olokesusi stated that the scheduled nature of the service is essential for affordability.
