The Super Eagles of Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory against Iran in an international friendly match on March 28, 2023, at Corendon Airlines Park in Antalya, Turkey. Moses Simon opened the scoring in the 6th minute with a precise finish after a pass from Samuel Chukwueze.

Nigeria dominated the first half but could not extend their lead before halftime. In the second half, Jerom Akor doubled Nigeria's advantage with a composed finish following a clever pass from Ademola Lookman.

Iran responded with a goal from Mehdi Taremi, but Nigeria managed to maintain control of the game. Coach Eric Chell utilized substitutions to keep the energy levels high, introducing players like Paul Onuachu and Chidera Ejuke.
