Six Adamawa PDP Lawmakers Resign, Leaving Seven Members

On February 23, 2023, six lawmakers from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State announced their resignation, significantly reducing the party's representation in the state House of Assembly to seven members. The resigning members included Deputy Speaker Moham Buba Jidjiwa, who represents Jada-Mbulo constituency, Kefa Kalvin from Toungo constituency, Bulu Geoffrei from Leko Koma constituency, Haruna Jilantikiri from Madagali constituency, Kefa Emmanuel from Song constituency, and Ahm Jingi Bele from Maiha constituency.

This mass resignation occurred amid rising speculation about Governor Ahmadu Fintiri's potential defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Despite the departures, there were no indications that any members of the House Assembly would be joining the APC at this time.
