Skitmaker Amuneke Rejects INEC Youth Ambassador Role

Kevin Chinedu Amuneke, a Nigerian skitmaker known for his satirical content, revealed his reasons for rejecting the appointment as Youth Ambassador by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). In a video shared on social media, Amuneke expressed immense pride in being recognized but raised concerns about the restrictions that would prevent him from criticizing INEC.

He highlighted the significance of the role in engaging young Nigerians in civic responsibilities, such as voter registration and participation in elections. However, he felt that accepting the position would contradict his commitment to holding institutions accountable and amplifying the voices of ordinary Nigerians.

Amuneke noted the pressure to remain silent on critical issues and emphasized the need for content creators to prioritize their integrity over financial gain. He also mentioned previous attempts by political actors to influence his satirical content, reinforcing his commitment to independence in his work.
