Sokoto ADC in Turmoil Over Senator Gada's Membership Status

In Sokoto State, the African Democrat Congress (ADC) is embroiled in internal controversy as the state chairman, Yusuf Alkali, and secretary openly disagree on Senator Abubakar Umar Gada's membership status. The state chairman, Alhaji Bello Keagan, insists that neither Senator Gada nor former Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal are registered members of ADC.

However, Alkali counters this claim, stating that Senator Gada officially registered as a member on August 21, 2025. Senator Gada, who recently announced his return to the PDP, accused Tambuwal of failing to provide leadership in mobilizing support for ADC, leading to his decision to leave.

The confusion within ADC has prompted Senator Gada to rebuild within the PDP ahead of future elections, citing frustration with ADC's leadership structure.
