Sokoto State Approves N1.46bn for Governor's Vehicles

The Sokoto State Executive Council approved a total of N1.46 billion for the purchase of official vehicles for the governor's office, which includes three bulletproof Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs and two 2025 Toyota Prado SUVs. This decision was announced during a council meeting held at the Government House in Sokoto State.

Additionally, the council approved a contract worth N7.5 billion for a vehicle road rehabilitation infrastructure project across the state. The council, led by the Commissioner for Transport, Bala Kokani, also sanctioned the direct purchase of six buses for the Sokoto State Transport Authority, costing N438 million.

Other approvals included N2.2 billion for the rehabilitation of 36 roads, N894.68 million for ongoing construction at Sultan Abubakar International Airport, and N1.08 billion for renovations at the NYSC orientation camp in Wamakko, built 12 years ago during the administration of former Governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
