Sokoto Governor Gifts N450,000 to 2,410 Hajj Pilgrims

Sokoto State Governor Ahmadu Aliyu announced a donation of 1,000 Saudi Riyals, equivalent to N450,000, to each of the 2,410 pilgrims from Sokoto State who are performing the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia. This announcement was made on Thursday night by Muhammad Mai Gari Dingyadi, the Amirul Hajj of Sokoto State.

The financial assistance is intended to help ease the pilgrims' expenses as they prepare for their journey back to Nigeria. Dingyadi commended the pilgrims for their orderly conduct and respect for Saudi laws throughout the Hajj period, noting that they had displayed exemplary behavior and had not violated any laws.

He urged the pilgrims to maintain discipline and continue to portray Sokoto State positively until the completion of their pilgrimage. Dingyadi reiterated the commitment of Governor Aliyu's administration to the welfare of the people of Sokoto State and called on the pilgrims to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the state and Nigeria.
