Atiku Abubakar Demands Justice After Sokoto Killings

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice-President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, condemned the recent killings of 32 innocent Nigerians in the Ungushi community of Kebbe Local Government Area, Sokoto State. In a statement on his verified X account, he expressed devastation over the incident, highlighting the increasing insecurity in Nigeria.

Atiku extended his condolences to the bereaved families and the residents of Sokoto State, praying for the deceased and their loved ones. He criticized the government's reliance on condolence messages, stating that such responses are insufficient in light of the recurring violence.

Atiku emphasized the need for the Federal Government to take urgent action, including strengthening intelligence gathering, securing vulnerable communities, and prosecuting those responsible for the killings. He reiterated that the primary duty of the government is to protect its citizens, urging that Nigerians should not continue to suffer while those responsible for their security offer excuses.

Atiku called for immediate measures to prevent further loss of lives in Sokoto State and across the country.
