Sokoto Rep Bashir Gorau Mourns Father's Passing

Bashir Gorau, a representative from Sokoto, has lost his father, Alhaji Usman Gorau, who passed away in the early hours of Tuesday due to prolonged illness. The late patriarch was laid to rest in his hometown located in Goronyo Local Government Area, Sokoto State, in accordance with Islamic rites.

He is survived by two wives and 22 children, which include the federal lawmaker, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral prayer attracted several prominent figures, including the Sokoto State chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and notable political leaders.

In a brief remark, Hon. Bashir Gorau described his late father as a pillar of strength, whose absence will be deeply felt not only by the immediate family but also by the wider community.

Hon. Umar Yusuf Yabo, a member representing Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency, extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty Allah grants the deceased Aljannatul Firdau and gives the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
