Veteran Journalist Moham Ibrahim Goronyo Passes Away at 64

Veteran journalist Moham Ibrahim Goronyo passed away at the age of 64, following an illness. He was a correspondent for Al Jazeera and left behind a wife and five children.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Sokoto State Council expressed their grief in a statement signed by the state chairman, Usman Moham Binji, and secretary, Muhammad Nasir Bello. They described Goronyo's passing as a devastating loss, noting his dedication to the profession and the profound void it left in the media landscape of Sokoto.

The Sokoto Correspondents Chapel, represented by chairman Ank Emmanuel and secretary Musa Ubamdawaki, acknowledged Goronyo as an outstanding member whose presence brought energy and depth to the newsroom. They highlighted his diligence, honesty, and courage in reporting, emphasizing his belief in speaking the truth.

Goronyo's burial took place on Thursday morning in Arkilla Wamakko Local Government Area, following Islamic rites, and he will be sorely missed by his colleagues.
