Soldiers Seize Ammunition, Arrest Seven on Kaduna-Jos Road

On Thursday at 11:45 AM, soldiers from the Joint Task Force intercepted a substantial cache of ammunition and components for improvised explosive devices along the Kaduna-Jos road, near Boi Science Secondary School in Manchok, Kaduna State. This operation, described as a significant breakthrough in internal security, resulted in the arrest of seven suspects.

Captain Chinonso Oteh disclosed that the troops conducted a precise stop-and-search operation, recovering 569 rounds of 12.7mm anti-aircraft ammunition, several warheads, 189 empty shells of 7.62mm ammunition, and a mobile phone linked to the improvised explosive device components. The driver, identified as Khalifa Bawa, claimed ownership of the items, alleging they were to be hand-delivered from an anonymous source, with no identifiable details about the sender or intended recipient.

The operation underscores the military's commitment to disrupting the movement of arms and explosives in the North Central region of Nigeria.
