Soldiers Seize Ammunition Cache on Kaduna-Jos Road

On Thursday, at 11:45 AM, troops conducted a stop-and-search operation along the Kaduna-Jos road near Boi Science Secondary School in Manchok, Kaduna State. The operation, supported by a special forces tactical team, targeted a commercial vehicle, a blue Opel wagon with registration number NSR 154 TA Kano, carrying seven passengers.

Upon searching the vehicle, soldiers discovered a concealed cache of ammunition, which included 569 rounds of 12.7mm anti-aircraft ammunition, several high-velocity warheads, and 189 empty shells of 7.62mm special ammunition. Additionally, a GSM handset suspected to be a component for remote detonation was recovered.

The driver, identified as Khalifa Bawa, denied ownership of the items and provided no details about the sender or intended recipient. The vehicle and its contents have been taken into custody for further investigation, and efforts are ongoing to trace the origin of the shipment and identify those behind it.
