Troops Seize Ammunition and Explosives in Kaduna-Plateau

On April 16, 2026, at 11:45 AM, troops deployed near Manchok, close to Boi Science Secondary School, intercepted a navy blue Opel wagon commercial vehicle during a routine stop and search. The vehicle was carrying seven passengers and contained a significant quantity of suspicious items, including 569 anti-aircraft rounds, empty AK-47 shells, and components for explosive materials.

Preliminary interrogation identified the driver as Khalifa Bawa, who claimed that the items were part of a waybill consigned to an unidentified individual, without providing the name or contact details of either the sender or intended recipient. Following the discovery, Bawa was arrested and taken into custody for further investigation, with expectations of transferring the case to appropriate authorities for detailed interrogation and possible prosecution.

The military high command emphasized that troops would remain vigilant in the area to curb the movement of arms and explosives along vulnerable routes.
