Troops Arrest 16 Terrorism Suspects in North-East Nigeria

The Nigerian Army reported that troops from the 3 Battalion Mechanised successfully intercepted supplies meant for terrorists and arrested 16 suspects during a sustained offensive operation across the North-East theatre. The operation took place on Monday, with troops acting on intelligence that led them to the Gamboru Ngala local government area in Borno State, close to the Nigeria-Cameroon border.

During the operation, soldiers foiled a cross-border fuel smuggling attempt, seizing 19 jerrycans of automotive gas oil. The suspects reportedly fled the scene, abandoning the products as the troops raided the suspected smuggling route.
