Troops Arrest Terror Suspects, Rescue Kidnap Victims

Troops from the Troop Joint Task Force North East, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, conducted successful operations in Yobe and Adamawa States, resulting in the arrest of two suspected terrorists, Haruna Adamu (32) and Ibrahim Adamu (20), who allegedly fled from Zamfara State. The troops recovered items including smartphones, identification cards, and illicit substances.

Additionally, Ali Muhammad (30), an informant for Boko Haram and ISWAP, was apprehended in Ngamdu market, found with cash and contact information of terrorist associates. During night operations around Mubi, five drug peddlers were arrested, and various items, including ammunition, were seized.

The troops also responded to a distress call, successfully rescuing two kidnapped victims, Barnaba Apagu (12) and Ruth Apagu (10). In Kukareta, Yobe State, troops recovered hand grenades and explosives abandoned by fleeing terrorists.

The military high command commended the troops for their efforts in restoring peace and stability in the North-East.
