Soldiers Thwart Terrorist Attacks in North East Nigeria

Between March 28 and 30, 2026, soldiers from the Joint Task Force North East, under the command of Sani Uba, conducted operations in North East Nigeria that successfully foiled multiple terrorist attacks and intercepted logistics associated with Boko Haram and ISWAP. Troops deployed in Damboa detected terrorist movements through surveillance, leading to the engagement of insurgent forces, which resulted in their withdrawal.

During the operations, troops uncovered improvised explosive devices and recovered materials, including rail tracks and vehicles, highlighting ongoing terrorist efforts to disrupt critical routes. Additionally, troops intercepted a vehicle carrying a large quantity of supplies, equivalent to two truckloads, suspected to be intended for insurgents.

The operation also led to the arrest of 13 suspects, including logistics suppliers, with preliminary findings indicating their involvement in supporting terrorist activities. The military high command commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism, urging them to maintain operational tempo to deny terrorists freedom of action.
