Nigerian Soldiers Rescue Kidnap Victim in Kano-Katsina Border Operation

Nigerian soldiers rescued a kidnap victim, Rabiu Alhaji Halilu, at the Kano–Katsina border after engaging in a fierce gun battle with bandits. The operation was carried out by troops from the 3 Brigade based in Kano.

The soldiers intercepted the bandits in the Unguwan Dogo and Unguwan Tudu communities in Katsina state, forcing the bandits to retreat towards Matazu LGA. The victim was identified as Rabiu Alhaji Halilu, aged 38, who was rescued with gunshot wounds on his leg.

The troops also recovered three motorcycles, two mobile phones with undisclosed numbers, and cattle believed to have been rustled by the bandits. Residents in the affected areas were urged to support security agencies in combating banditry and kidnapping.
