Soludo Sworn In for Second Term as Anambra Governor

Charles Soludo was sworn in for his second term as Governor of Anambra State on Tuesday during an inauguration ceremony held at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square in the state capital. The event was attended by high-profile dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, and former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku.

Soludo was declared the winner of the governorship election held on November 8, 2025, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), having contested under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He received a total of 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 99,445 votes.

Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party came in third with 37,753 votes. The election saw participation from 16 candidates across various political parties, with a total of 2,788,864 registered voters in the state.
