Soludo Unveils Achebe Monument, Urges Youth to Embrace Legacy

On Saturday, Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo unveiled a monument dedicated to the late literary icon Prof.

Chinua Achebe at Nwasik Roundabout in Ogidi. During the ceremony, Soludo challenged the youth to reject cultism and embrace the intellectual and moral integrity championed by Achebe.

He emphasized that the monument serves as a permanent reminder of Achebe's ideals, which continue to shape society. Soludo noted that Achebe, though deceased, lives on through his teachings and legacy.

The event also featured tributes from Achebe's family, including his son, Prof. Ik Achebe, who expressed gratitude for the state's dedication to his father's memory.

Local leaders, including Stanlei Nkwoka and Igw Chidubem Iweka, stressed the importance of preserving Achebe's intellectual legacy for future generations. This unveiling follows the recent renaming of Anambra International Passenger and Cargo Airport in honor of Achebe, marking a significant step in cementing his legacy within the cultural fabric of the state.
