Anambra Skill Ladi Program Launched for Women Empowerment

Dr. Nony Soludo, the wife of Anambra State Governor, initiated the first batch of the Anambra Skill Ladi training program on Friday at the SSG Conference Hall, Light House, Awka.

This vocational training program is designed to equip women across the state with skills in traditionally male-dominated professions. The initiative aims to break professional stereotypes and empower women economically.

During the launch, Dr. Soludo highlighted that the program received 10,000 applications within a week, prompting organizers to double the initial plan to train 100 women.

The training will cover four key areas: solar installation, CCTV installation, AC repair and maintenance, and tricycle (keke) repair. The program will run for two months, including practical classes and an additional month of internship.

Dr. Soludo emphasized the importance of attendance, requiring trainees to achieve at least 98% participation to receive certification.

She encouraged participants to remain dedicated and focused throughout the program.
