Sophia Momodu Demands N1bn from Davido in Custody Row

The custody dispute between Sophia Momodu and singer Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, has escalated as Momodu's lawyer, Ebelechukwu Enedah of Punuka Attorneys, issued a demand letter on February 24. The letter accuses Davido of defamation and harassment, seeking N1 billion in damages for alleged harm to Momodu's professional reputation due to online attacks.

Enedah claims that Davido's public comments have resulted in emotional distress and security concerns for Momodu and her family. The letter criticizes Davido for describing Enedah as "the worst lawyer ever," labeling the remarks as defamatory and malicious.

It emphasizes that the custody matter concerning their daughter, Imade, should not be subjected to public commentary or social media debate. Following a heated court session in February, Davido announced via social media that he would withdraw his custody application.

Enedah demands that Davido cease public comments on the case and issue a public apology, warning of potential legal action if he fails to comply within seven days.
