South East Basketball Congratulates Onyenso on NBA Draft

The South East Basketball Association congratulated Nigerian basketball players Ugonna Onyenso, Ebuka Okoria, Zubia Ejiofor, and Felix Opara on their achievements in the NBA draft. Ugonna Onyenso was selected as the 53rd overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft by the Houston Rockets.

The association described their success as a reward for hard work, dedication, and commitment to developing basketball. Ugo Udezu, the chief of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, commended the players for their achievements, stating that they create opportunities and inspire young basketball players across the country.

Udezu emphasized that the players' hard work pays off and that continued investment in basketball development in the region is essential. The South East Basketball Association remains committed to promoting the game through various programs, including the participation of the Coal City Blazers from Enugu State in the Nigeria Basketball Premier League and the launch of the Richard Idik Basketball Court in Abakaliki.
