South East Former Governors Forum Endorses Tinubu's Re-election

The South East Former Governors Forum has emerged, endorsing Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term as President of Nigeria. The forum, which aims to unite experienced leaders from the South East, was formally launched during a meeting attended by former governors, including David Umahi, who explained the forum's purpose.

The meeting took place on April 7, 2026, with a commitment that 90 percent of former governors from the region would participate in future gatherings. The forum intends to work closely with current governors to support the President and enhance regional development, particularly in infrastructure.

The former governors praised Tinubu's administration for its efforts in the South East and expressed their commitment to his re-election. The forum plans to engage with current governors to strengthen cooperation across the region and has already made a courtesy call to Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah.
