Soludo Disputes Religious Motive in South-East Killings, Calls for International Cooperation

Anambra State Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo dismissed the notion of religious killings in Nigeria's South-East, attributing the violence to political disenchantment and youth alienation. He criticized US President Donald Trump's characterization of the situation as a religious genocide against Christians, emphasizing that Christians are killing fellow Christians in the region.

Soludo urged for a deeper understanding of Nigeria's internal dynamics and called for dialogue, economic reforms, and international collaboration to tackle the underlying governance challenges. He highlighted that the crisis is not religiously motivated but stems from social and economic frustrations.
