ADC South-South Denies Endorsement of Amaechi for 2027

On Saturday, Utomi, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that the South-South zone did not endorse Chibuike Amaechi for the 2027 presidential ticket. This clarification followed a meeting where Amaechi announced his intention to contest for the presidency.

Utomi emphasized that the request for endorsement was received traditionally, but no discussions took place regarding the matter, labeling any claims of endorsement as inaccurate and disingenuous. The meeting, held in Edo State, involved regional leaders of the ADC, where Odigie Oyegun addressed Amaechi's announcement.

Oyegun expressed gratitude for Amaechi's initiative and encouraged the leaders to support their own candidates. The video of the meeting has circulated online, but Utomi urged that the zone should not lose its structure and should ensure that their representatives are chosen appropriately.
