Pondi Champions South South Development Act Amendment

Hon. Julius Gbabojor Pondi, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on South South Development, has been recognized as a new champion of development in the South South region of Nigeria.

His leadership in sponsoring an amendment to the South South Development Commission (SSDC) Act of 2025 has garnered praise from Comrade Kufr Thoma, a national coordinator of a socio-political group. The amendment, encapsulated in bill HB 2674, seeks to provide additional funding sources for the SSDC, enabling it to effectively tackle infrastructure deficits and socio-economic issues across the six states of the region: Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, and Rivers.
