South South Youth Leaders Praise UPTH Revitalization Efforts

The South South Youth Leaders Forum, led by chairman Odiedim Amachre, commended Professor Chituru Godwil Orluwen for his transformative leadership at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH). In a statement following a fact-finding tour across the South South geopolitical zone, Amachre noted that within just 100 days, Orluwen's administration has implemented significant changes, including the establishment of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) institute.

The forum observed that UPTH has become a beacon of administrative excellence in the region, contrasting sharply with the previous administration plagued by infrastructural decay and lethargy. Key achievements during Orluwen's tenure include the rehabilitation of critical wards, restoration of consistent power and water supply, and a noticeable reduction in patient wait times.

The forum emphasized the importance of maintaining a harmonious relationship among health workers to enhance service delivery and called on federal health stakeholders to support Orluwen's vision to make UPTH a global destination for medical tourism.
