Sowore Accuses DSS of Blocking Aba Protest with Court Date

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist, publicly accused the Department of State Services (DSS) of manipulating the court schedule to hinder a planned protest in Aba. Sowore disclosed via social media on Friday that the trial date for his case was set to coincide with the protest, which aimed to support Nnamdi Kanu.

When Sowore's legal team arrived at the Federal High Court on March 5, 2026, they found that the judge handling the case was not present. This led to a disagreement among the parties involved, prompting Sowore's lawyer to formally request a new hearing date.

Sowore asserted that the situation changed when the DSS allegedly learned of the planned protest, suggesting that the intent behind the new court date was clear. Despite these developments, Sowore insisted that the struggle for his cause would continue.
