Sowore Backs Yesufu's 2027 Senate Bid Amid Party Critique

Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate and activist, has expressed his support for Aisha Yesufu's bid for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Senate seat in the 2027 general elections. During an interview on Monday, Sowore criticized Yesufu's choice of party, stating that while he supports her ambition, he believes she has aligned herself with the wrong political party.

Yesufu, who recently resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and declared her intent to contest for the Senate seat. Sowore emphasized that her decision reflects a deeper political conviction and understanding, particularly in light of her alignment with Peter Obi's leadership, which he believes embodies hope for Nigeria.

He noted that Yesufu's involvement is not merely as a party member but as an active candidate for the Senate, ensuring a smooth transition from the ADC to the NDC.
