Sowore Critiques Opposition Summit Absence in Ibadan

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), provided an explanation for his absence from the opposition summit held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday. He stated that Nigeria requires credible alternatives to the current administration and criticized the politicians who attended the summit, including prominent figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Rotimi Amaechi, as well as former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Senate President David Mark.

Sowore accused these politicians of contributing to Nigeria's ongoing challenges and described them as "recycled failures." He emphasized that the AAC is focused on building a credible alternative rooted in accountability and reform, rather than joining coalitions aimed at rebranding old political figures. Sowore called for mobilization against the failures of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress, and other opposition parties, including the People's Democratic Party, African Democratic Congress, and Labour Party.
