Sowore knocks Buratai over call for another nationwide lockdown

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore criticized former Chief of Army Staff Yusuf Tukur Buratai for suggesting another nationwide lockdown to address security issues in Nigeria. Buratai's call for a lockdown was in response to rising banditry, terrorism, and kidnapping in the country.

Sowore, in a Facebook post, argued that Buratai's previous handling of the 2020 lockdown resulted in the violent EndSARS Massacre. He also condemned Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa for proposing a lockdown as a solution to the security crisis, calling him an "airhead" who has "ruined Nigeria." Sowore emphasized the need for real solutions to the country's security challenges rather than another ineffective lockdown.
