Thirteen Zamfara Lawmakers Defect from PDP to APC

On Monday, during an extraordinary session in Gusau, the Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, alongside thirteen other lawmakers, announced their defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). This decision was made unanimously due to ongoing disputes and crises within the PDP.

The Speaker commended the support from constituents and expressed a commitment to continue serving the people despite the defection. The lawmakers, which included the Deputy Speaker and other major leaders, are expected to formalize their defection on Tuesday, alongside Governor Dauda Lawal.

Earlier reports indicated that the APC in the state had concluded arrangements for an official reception of the defectors.
