Sporting Lagos Signs Haruna Hadi from Remo Stars

Sporting Lagos has secured the signing of 25-year-old midfielder Haruna Hadi from Remo Stars, despite interest from multiple NPFL clubs, including Shooting Stars. The negotiations intensified as Hadi entered the final year of his contract.

Sporting Lagos identified Hadi as a priority target months ago, with head coach Jeff Butler closely monitoring the winger's performance. Hadi's family was reportedly influenced by the offer from Shooting Stars, but Butler's personal visit to outline Sporting Lagos's long-term vision swayed the decision.

Hadi's father, a former player for Shooting Stars, also played a role in the negotiations. Ultimately, Hadi chose Sporting Lagos, which offered a financial package considered lower than that of Shooting Stars but aligned with Hadi's preference for the club's project.

Last season, Hadi made 94 appearances for Remo Stars, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists, further establishing his reputation in the NPFL.
