Sportsville Sets Date for 2026 Award Ceremony in Lagos

Sportsville has officially announced that the 2026 Award Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, March 28th, at the Lagos Country Club in Ikeja. Harri Iwuala, the chairman of this year's award committee, expressed satisfaction in finalizing the date after a meticulous selection process.

The ceremony will celebrate individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to sports development in Nigeria. Frank Ilaboya, the Chief Executive Officer of Sportsville Communications Ltd, emphasized that the awards, now in their sixth edition, will be presented in seven categories, including Sport Icon, Sport Person, and Special Recognition.

The awards aim to highlight the positive impact of sports in the country and ensure that deserving individuals are recognized annually. Ilaboya noted that the Sportsville Special Recognition Award was initiated five years ago as part of activities marking the 20th anniversary of Sportsville's independent broadcasting in Nigeria, which remains one of the longest-running independent sports shows in Sub-Saharan Africa.
