Spotify Launches HD Lossless Audio for Premium Users, Enhancing Sound Quality

Spotify introduces HD lossless audio for Premium users, fulfilling a four-year promise. The feature offers higher quality sound with a depth of 16-bit and a 44.1 kHz sample rate using FLAC codec.

Initially available in 50 markets, including Australia, Germany, and Japan, the update aims to enhance user experience. Competitors like Apple Music and Tidal have already offered lossless audio.

Spotify's VP of subscription, Gustav Gyllenhammar, emphasized the company's focus on quality and user-friendly features. The rollout reflects Spotify's commitment to meeting user demands for improved audio quality and staying competitive in the streaming industry.
