SSDC Chairman Calls for Accountability and Transparency

Chibudom Nwuche, the chairman of the South South Development Commission (SSDC), urged board members to uphold transparency and accountability during the fourth regular meeting of the governing board in Abuja. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and strict adherence to established guidelines to maintain the commission's credibility and public trust.

Nwuche highlighted the SSDC's mandate to address infrastructural deficits and accelerate socio-economic growth in the South South region, following the establishment of the commission on March 25, 2025, after President Bola Tinubu's assent to the SSDC bill. He noted that achieving the commission's ambitious goals requires collective effort, as no individual possesses the expertise needed.

Nwuche stressed the urgency of delivering tangible results for the people of the region and called for collaboration with governors, the National Assembly, and other stakeholders. He acknowledged initial challenges but commended the board's management for laying a solid foundation for the commission's operations.
